About Trasa Cobern
Trasa Cobern is not a native Texan, but she arrived as quickly as she could. She grew up an Army brat on bases across the United States and Europe, and came to Texas on a full academic scholarship to Texas A&M University, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude. She married her college sweetheart, Kyle, twenty-nine years ago, and they have four adult sons.
A faithful Christian her entire life, Trasa has followed God’s lead wherever it pointed — whether that meant moving to Texas sight unseen, staying home with her boys for twelve years, stepping into a classroom, or moving into nonprofit development. She spent a decade as an award-winning U.S. History teacher, honored in 2018 by the Daughters of the American Revolution and in 2019 by Constituting America. She went on to serve as Chief Development Officer of the Christian nonprofit 6 Stones, and today is Vice President of Development & Strategic Initiatives at the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Trasa has served her city of Hurst as a City Councilmember, is a published author and a Fox News Online contributor, and was named Woman of the Year in 2025 by the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce.
